I am back at home after years teaching English in Korea, and what do you know, I got a job at home teaching English!
Does anyone have any placement tests they are willing to share, or any links to sites that offer placements test.
I need elementary to middle school level.
I am looking for something simple, just to get my students set up into somekind of system.
Thanks for any help or advice. |

Congrats!
I'd recommend a few things.
1. Use a picture and have a standard series of questions/rubric for it. Mark how far each student gets in response to your questions.
2. Less time consuming - use the placement tests you can find on EFL Classroom - esp. those from N.Y. State. Look here, in our Resources Cloud Click "assessment". Others, online tests, in the Practice page under STUDY.
3. Another quick way to assess is vocabulary. Get a list of increasing vocabulary items or a picture which shows them. Ask the student to point and mark how far down the list they get. For reading, use Dolch Site boards at around the right level and see how far the student can read without making a mistake - or how many mistakes / board. Click Vocabulary to get many on EFL classroom or search online.
Hope this helps a bit. Have fun!
