I am often asked if I am Russian by Koreans.
Do you have or have you had the same experience.

Infact Russians ask me for directions at train and bus stations ...

Russians in Korea thionk I am Russian ...

Do Koreans think you are Russian?

Why do you think Koreans think you are Russian?

Personally, I admit I look "Russian" as in Russian thug from Bond Movies Russian as the way I dress ...

What are your from Russian with love experiences ...

(I posted this once, but, alas it is gone ... so here we go again)

BTW: I like Russians, I just don't know why people think I am ...

This is gonna launch another whine fest from the girls about being asked if we're Russian. Coming from Koreans with their ideas about Russian women it is offensive, not cause of the nationality, but the implications of being "working" girls.

I too actually get asked if I'm Russian by Russians, which freaks me out just a little. I've had a few people ask me questions in Russian, on buses and things.

I get that from time to time. Just quit wearing track suits and leather coats and let your hair grow out some. Razz

Nah, I don't bite. Not sure what makes me look Russian to Russian people though.

Had an Uzbeki guy who wouldn't believe that I wasn't Russian. Of course I am half-russian and look like a young Rasputin with a shave so its understandable...

I was asked if I was Turkish! By a half-Korean, half-Turkish guy.

Shocked

I get the "Russian" thing all the time. Of course, people tell me that I look Eastern European. It happens to me pretty much anywhere in Korea. What is funny is when I start spouting off to them in unintelligible "Russian". Great way to kill time.

I'm a chameleon. I've been mistaken for a local in more countries than I can count, and not even very similar nationalities, either. But then I come to Korea, and all the people here seem to know I'm American just by glancing at me. More likely, it's just a lucky guess. I've only been mistaken for a Russky here once (although I've been mistaken for a Russky in Russia, Azerbaijan, and Bulgaria).
