My friend and I both recently graduated from college and are looking to find an ESL job in Korea (hagwon, public or anything) and were wondering if it's possible to find schools willing to hire and provide housing for us both. After reading these forums for the past couple of days I've come to realize that the Korean ESL job market is flooded right now. It's hard for people to find any sort of job so I imagine finding a school willing to hire two people who want to live together would be exceedingly difficult. Is it possible? Is it too much of a hassle for schools to hire people wanting to live together and would they not even consider us? We'd be willing to work anywhere, even out in the boonies.
I realize this probably should be posted in the FAQ forum, but I can't post a new thread there because it tells me that only moderators can start a new topic. |

If you're not picky about location or school type, just about anything is possible. SMOE mess is, well it's a MESS, but also attributable to people all going for safety of public schools and Seoul in times of crisis. Hagwon getting two teachers and pay for only one housing allowance would be a good business deal for hagwon. So get in touch with a recruiter and tell them you two want to teach together. |
