|

Really. I noticed last night that I replied to one ad in a very different tone than usual. I wrote the words, "I'm pretty easy-going. I'll take time to help a student pass. I seldom give bad grades...." For me, that was a first.
The other style is kind of prissy and precise. "Thank you for your advertisement on Dave's. Please find attached...I have a great deal of experience in ..."
Help! Thanks |

| None of that matters. They just want to make sure you can construct a sentence. |

Even in I'm 60? Style doesn't matter? How about a brief cover letter or a full page?
Thanks. |

| I thought they just cared about your photograph. I instantly got 2 telephone interviews after a quick blast on Photoshop. |

I emphasized personal qualities, accomplishments, and cross-cultural experience without coming off as arrogant. The last bit was really hard to pull off. Had to write 9 drafts. lol |

What exactly entails a professional photograph? I don't think I have any "professional" looking photographs of myself. For the recruitment agency I was using I just posted a picture of me in my graduation gown and cap. When this photo was taken I was growing a nice thick trendy manbeard and I'm wondering if this would be an unacceptable photo because potentential employers frown upon lumberjack beards. |

The beard (nice and trimmed) is not a deal breaker completely, but I have heard some Koreans not speaking highly of it.
Usually, the resume photos (if that's what you're talking about) you should have either a suit or a dress shirt on. It should just be a picture of your head and upper chest. You can take it at home with a neutral background. If you are clean shaven now, I would suggest a more up to date one. |

I still have the beard, but thanks to your input I will be shaving it off shortly in order to get a nice clean-shaven picture of myself. Thanks! |

| A nice round letter like "B". Actually, I talk to the schools, I don't use a letter to sell myself. |
