There are three movie theaters -- two "downtown" and one newer one near the city bus station. They have about 8 or 10 screens each, and usually have 2-4 foreign movies at any given time. These may include English with Korean subtitles, as well as Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, or Japanese with Korean subtitles...though English, Japanese, and Chinese are the ones I notice most often. Most Hollywood releases make it here, and some actually come out at the same time (or even earlier) here...though usually, we are about a month behind on the US releases.
The three theaters usually offer pretty much the same fare -- one or two movies may differ, but generally, all three play pretty much the same movies. G.I. Joe and The Orphan are currently playing, for example, and I think there are two other US films this week. Not sure which Korean movies are playing, but there are usually 6 or more of those to choose from. |
