What is the time frame for the health check given when you enter Korea? Am I going to have to get off the plane after a 30 hour trip and get stuck up by a nurse? I've got small/hard to find veins and have to get stuck 2-3 times every time I have blood drawn, and am really not looking forward to that abuse joined with jet lag. My school has said they've had some instances of influenza and that I'll be waiting a week before I start teaching to make sure I'm ok. Does this mean I'm going to have to get tests done again?! Is there any way to choose where you get it done? I would like to make sure I'm going to the best place possible, maybe then I'll have a chance of getting a nurse who can get it right.
also- are there any 24 hour/ open late gyms near apgujeoung? |

I think somebody was saying that SMOE sets up their teachers. Assuming your not SMOE, we have 90 days to get our ARC, which you need your health check to get. It's better sooner than later, because there are things you need your ARC for. |

I am not SMOE. That sounds much more reasonable that I previously thought. Thanks! What do you need your ARC card for? I know bank accounts for one, what else? |

You can get a bank account with your passport, but it's better with your ARC. Other things include "contract" things, like cell phone, internet (depending if your school provides it or not). Plus, you have to walk around with official ID. I for one do not want to walk around with my passport and risk losing it or having it stolen. |
