I'm just curious how bad an old arrest looks on a CRC? I had a records check done from the state of Arizona, but they don't give an official CRC, just a letter saying you don't have a record. I went to my local police department to get a second CRC just in case and an old arrest showed up. The charges were dismissed, but it does list the arrest. It was for using a fake id to get into a bar. Now I'm wondering whether to even use this local CRC or just completely toss it? How big of a deal would that be for immigration? Thanks Very Happy

They don;t except local CRCs anymore...just state ones if that answers your question.

Thanks for you response. I guess I'm a little nervous that the state one won't get accepted, since its this weird letter because Arizona is a closed-records state. I'm just worried if I have to do an FBI check it will show up on there too. Which again would lead back to the question on how bad that would look? Again, it the charges were dismissed, but it still is technically an arrest.

Who knows...depends on the person who looks at it on the day.
The could look at it like a drug or fraud charge because if involves under-age IDs and alcohol or they might just not see anything wrong with it at all.

Only one way to find out...

Toss the local one. You can't use it anyway. You know the charges were dismissed, so you should have no record.

Use the state of Arizona CRC. As long as it's an official document that says you have no record, which is true, then you are good to go. It should be accepted.
