I hope Anderson Silva fights Lyoto Machida. Anderson Silva would fight at 205. He has done that before when he fought James Irvin. It would be an interesting fight considering their styles. I could see the fight going the distance. |

This would be a much better fight than Silva/GSP, which would be a pretty lopsided victory for Silva. I just read that Silva has considered fighting Mir at heavyweight! |

Silva already said the fight would never happen because the two are friends.
It would be awesome to see Silva move up the HW! |

Belfort and Shogun would both be pretty good fights for Silva if they get their ModEdit together. Mousasi has also looked amazing, but I would like to see how he does against someone in the top 5 which will never happen now that he signed with Strikeforce. |

He could suffer a career ending injury at heavyweight. |

silva and mir__________that would be sweet. standing up I think silva would knock him out but silva hasnt faced anyone with that much power combined with submision skills
I thnk mir is going to fight Kongo next. That will be a fun fight. If Kongo ever gets his ground game going he would be on another level. he's one of the nastiest strikers in the UFC |

After seeing Never Surrender, it's clear to me that Hector Echavarria is the world's premier martial artist.
He dispensed of Anderson Silva in short order, and GSP and BJ Penn were mere subordinate assistants.
Of course, he directed and starred in the film, and the big-name MMA stars who appeared in supporting roles were friends of his apparently eager to launch their own acting careers ...
According to this (contested) Wikipedia article, he has trained "Rampage" and Kongo and is currently working with BJ Penn.

Actually I did vote for Machida, but these guys preoccupation with acting - along with their being "buddies" - suggests that such a match would likely be a work anyway.
If everything was legit, I think that the matchup favors Machida - and I've heard (on www.betweentheropes.com) that he often gets the better of Silva when they have practice bouts.
However, Machida has also stated that he thinks that Anderson Silva would defeat Fedor if they ever met because of his technically superior skills. |
