There are Koreans whose job it is to walk around and document every rock and pebble. If a bird poops, they have to document it. If a shell washes up on shore, guess what, National Treasure #4603549594a!

Korea has less world heritage sites than many countries. There are certainly less national treasures here than in the US http://whc.unesco.org/en/list

UNESCO designated sites and those designated by the korean government are not the same thing.

How old is Korea?

350 or so treasures isn't a lot when you consider there are paintings, jewelry, metalwork, furniture, and sculpture and other things that are created.

I understand that. I'm saying that because Korea doesn't have as many on the world list that it's ok that they have many national treasures of their own
