Perhaps my OP was poorly worded.
I'm not convinced that it is the nationality causing the problem. More than likely the species.
Something about humans and booze and sex and showing off that probably goes back to Ug and Drn finding some fermented grapes and then scrawling obscene depictions on the cave walls with their feces. |

They're mercs.
What do we truly expect? |

You'd think so. But then again . . . mercs. So . . . |

Gotta say, out of all the people who could be called victims of the Afghan war, those who willingly joined up as mercenaries rank right near the bottom of my sympathy list.

Private security guards at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul were pressured to participate in naked pool parties and perform sex acts to gain promotions or assignment to preferable shifts, according to one of 12 guards who have gone public with their complaints.
|
I hope that pressure wasn't too much of a psychological burden for the delicate sensibilites of these soldiers-of-fortune. |

Remember when those four Blackwater mercs were out in Fallujah, cruising outside of acceptable US Army zones in a topless jeep, and they got hit and strung up. Here's a link about it. This then resulted in a massive punitive offensive (little else to describe what it appeared to be, anyway) in which dozens of American soldiers lost their lives, and no doubt more Iraqi civilians.
I don't know why that came to mind all of a sudden, but I thought I'd share. |

Not mercenaries. Former American military personnel working as contract employees for the American govt. Serving their own national flag and not another.
Mercenaries are foreign nationals serving whichever flag pays the most. |

I don't know. 'Private contractors' doesn't quite catch the lack of accountability + responsibility (ability to do harm to the mission for which our troops are dying). |
