If you get a C-3 visa (as a US citizen, don't know about others,) it generally says "Good for multiple journeys to the Republic of Korea within sixty months of date here-of if passport remains valid" with a "Period of Sojourn" for, say 90 days.
This means that for five years you can go in and out of Korea as you please, so long as you don't stay for more than 90 days at any one stretch, right?
Ok, what if you got the C-3, but within the five years applied for an E-2? Would they automatically cancel the C-3? What if you left after a year on the E-2 and two years later wanted to come back in on the C-3?
(Oh, and I might add that the ins and outs on the C-3 would of course show any immigration official with the ability to add and subtract that you could not possibly have been holding down an illegal job!)
This is theoretical at this point for me, because my passport just expired, but I wondered if anyone else had any experience or thoughts on this issue. |

So, there would be no problem applying for a new C-3 in the future, but still within the valid period of the original C-3? |

Before cancelling your c-3 visa,
I might suggest you try to get permission to engage in activites, outside of the c-3 visa. I have a d-6 visa (social worker / religious worker) and did it when I took a part time job at a local kindy center.
Best of Luck, |

It's not like that...I mean, sometimes I am in Korea as a 100% tourist and sometimes as a 100% English-teacher-for-money. I swear to you, I'm not trying to do anything funny... |
