Writing in for a friend, please help.

1. If you quit your job without giving full notice, can the school withhold your pension?

2. If you are fired, can the school withhold your pension?

3. Is there a reference site on the 'net detailing employees' rights in regards to pension renumeration and/or contractual issues? Are lawyers available to help with this should the need arise?

FYI This is not a midnight run situation. The teacher in question has been an upstanding employee of this institution for several years but is now being given the bum's rush due to a personal issue.

4. Since we're on the subject, I keep hearing about the magical 5 year pension doubling. Is this an urban myth? Does the school's contribution simply start to double at the 5 year mark, or is the entire pension amount doubled at the 5 year mark?

The pension money is paid to the NPC, a government organization. So the only way a hogwon could withhold your pension money is if they weren't paying it to the NPC in the first place.
