Why does Arirang insist on showcasing Korean Pop to the English-speaking world day in, day out? No sane person in their right mind could bear to endure this *beep* for more than a minute, let alone be inspired to run out and buy this musical equivalent of an ear-raping. Do the poor deluded morons who run this station honestly think that foreigners will go that native that they will get into it? Or are they just laboring under the usual assumptions of inherent Korean cultural superiority that seem to inflict every wretched soul on this god-forsaken peice of boulder-strewn peninsula? |

Heck, I don't even know the RnB music... but I've developed an odd liking for the girl groups... as in, they're there for more than just to look at. |

ryleeys, i wouldn't go that far, girl groups are good to look at but talent wise most(not all) are shocking.
If you can sometimes Music bank(SBS) or similar programs will do a live show(no miming). So listen to the girl groups then. Some are shocking. I love baby Vox but the day i heard them sing, arrgghhh!!! |

While K-Pop isn't that popular with westerners (though my sister is absolutely enthralled by it), don't underestimate its popularity in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
It's freaking huge over there.

Dear jaganath69,
You are suffering from the delusion that foreigners in Korea are the target audience of Arirang. As far as I can tell, Arirang is meant a) for Koreans living overseas and then b) for the export of Korean culture. |
