anyone else see this documentary?

Like all good docs., it stays with you for awhile.

In the first ten minutes I thought these guys were tools and hilarious, but by the end, I felt like the tool for not following my dreams as passionately as they. In a way, it is like one of the messages from Don Quixote. If you want to be a knight, then be a knight!

I saw the film in Vancouver the day after enjoying the Chickenfoot concert. Always liked Anvil but some albums are mediocre. Strength of Steel comes to mind.

I'm pretty sure the title is " The Story of Anvil."

I saw it a few months ago and loved it.
If you've seen "This is Spinal Tap", you might agree that it's a case of life imitating art. It's funny, heartwarming and inspiring at the same time.
One of the better human interest docs I've seen since watching " The King of Kong."

that is also a good one, but a little bit darker.

Air Guitar Nation is also good.

Murderball has to be seen to be believed.

I checked those out on imdb.com and the first two seem okay, but Murderball looks hokey as hell.

Anvil!:The Story of Anvil, is the best documentary I've seen in years.

An absolute must-see. Doesn't matter if you don't like heavy metal. It's a human story.

I'm on a bit of a 70's kick these days; you know, the whole golden age of cinema thing. Last night I watched "The Parallax View" which was good, and then the last free form documentary from Orson Welles, "F is for Fake" which was fantastic. I am hoping to find a torrent of "Harlan County, USA" which by many accounts is the best doc. of the 70's, but as of yet, my search has been unsuccessful.

Nope. Extremely powerful film. Nothing hokey about it.

Harlan County, USA is a great documentary.

I'm downloading "The Story of Anvil" right now. It looks like it should be pretty good.

different strokes for different folks, but you should give some doc's a chance. As is so common in life, the truth IS stranger than fiction. Try "Gates of Heaven," "Dr Death" or "Grizzly Man." No writer could conjure stranger people.

BTW,

is just plain silly. A bit of a slump, I guess.

Have you seen the documentary about The Life and Times of Harvey Milk? I really liked that one. There was another one about Waco that was good, but I can't remember the exact title. The best one I've seen lately was called Taxi to the Dark Side. Pretty gripping stuff

I was just jabbing about the Harlan County documentary, I'll try to download that one later. I've never heard of it.

Been waiting to watch that one, but it just sounds so bleak that one has to be in the right frame of mind to watch it. The Waco doc. was very good also. I have the DVD of "Milk", but I suspect you are not refering to the Sean Penn movie. Crumb was another very good doc., again about a very unusual family.
