I tried the search function, but it never works... sorry
Can anyone tell me how much I might pay for an apartment that is a reasonable distance from Bundang? (ideally somewhere on the Bundang line, on the way to Seoul?)
Found a good job (maybe) but it doesn't pay for housing, only covers deposit money.
And anyone know a cheap place I could stay IN Bundang for my interview?
Thank you... |

I've heard bundang is not overly expensive 1000/50 (or less) for big officetels with the elevated loft bedroom. |

thanks for the response!
hmmm you're saying 1000 or 1050, that sounds reasonable for a nice place, but is there anything for less nearby?
Or could I just get a simple officetel studio (no loft) for like... 700? |

Sorry, that is standard korean notation for rental prices, I saw your join date and thought you'd be familiar.
That means 10 million won deposit and around 500,000W a month.
Bundang being further from seoul seems to have some more reasonably priced places. I've got a friend who lives there with his family and he mentioned that as a going price he's seen for big officetels (like around 30 pyeong) |

oh ok, wow, that's cheaper than I expected! I thought Bundang was mad expensive
(my school will cover the deposit, so I wasn't even thinking about that)
ok cool, so I can probably find a cheap love motel or something there too, VERY NICE!

actually, also, since you know Bundang... or anyone else..
if I'm at jeongja station, would it take me like 30 or 45 min to get to Seoul Station?
And how late do the subways run at night?
sorry, I have lived in Korea, just haven't been in Seoul too much, thanks |

You can use the following site to find out how long it would take to get to Seoul Station:
http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/ena/TR/TR_EN_5_1_4.jsp
As for the subways, I believe they open around 5:30am and close around midnight. |

From Jeonja, on a bus---I've taken the 1005-1 and 5500-1; red buses---I've gotten to Seoul Station in that time. It's all dependent on traffic, though, with buses. |

Huh?
Bundang is expensive.
10 mill/500,000 per month for a 30 pyung officetel? He is either renting from family or is lying.
You wont even find a crummy 30 pyung jutek for that price in Bundang.
That type of money will get you a 8-10 pyung officetel in Jeongja. |

I live in Bundang. Going rate is 10 million down
for key money. I pay 650,000 won for a studio(great view). I got 50,000
taken off the monthly rent as the previous tenant broke their contract
and the owner wanted somebody to move in asap.
You will be paying 700,000-750,000 for a studio with 10 mill down.
If you want a NICE one bedroom place then you will need to pay around
850,000-900,000K a month. It is possible to get cheaper but from what I
have seen a lot of those places are left in a cruel state by the previous
tennant. You will need to pay more for a nice place that's been taken
care of.....with a good view!
Hope this helps.

Alright... the truth comes out!
so 700 for a studio, maybe 900 for a 1-bedroom, alright! VERY NICE!
I'm still hoping hoping to find a similar paying position in Gangnam, got one last interview tonight (lunchtime in korea), but Bundang might be where it's at... in which case, HIGH FIVE!
and btw - if anyone else was wondering how long from Jeongja Station (in Bundang) to Seoul Station, it says 80 minutes on that official subway website that was listed before... so it's true, you really can go from Daejeon to Seoul Station faster than from Bundang, crazy. |

Forget the subway, express buses are where its at. Much, much faster.
Your only thinking rent. If its an officetel, be prepared to tack on another 200 for maintenance fees. |
