I am currently riding 91' Daelim Daystar. For the first two years it worked like a charm. I've had it about 3 years I think. It's still not so bad but a bit more contankerous than it used to be. Also, I've done some long trips on the 125 and although it can be done, a bit more power would be better for the longer trips, especially if I wanted to take a passenger. I was thinking it might be time soon to upgrade to a 250, which would mean I'd have to go with a Hyosung since Daelim doesn't make a 250 cruiser.

Anybody that has owned a Hyosung 250 Mirage for awhile and can tell me anything about their reliability? I've known quite a few people that had headaches with the 125 Hyosung bikes. I was thinking of maybe trying to trade in my bike, and maybe buy something new, or at least newer, but I'm a little wary of the Hyosung bikes on dependability from what I've read. If Daelim made a 250 cruiser I'd buy it in a snap.

I've owned 6 Korean bikes. They all fell apart.

I currently own a Honda CB400, had it nearly 4 years...never had a problem.

That should answer your question.

(Get a Honda)

Did you buy them new, or were they old when they fell apart? My Daystar worked like magic for the first two years and it was a '91, so I wouldn't completely give up on it yet, but I'd want to buy something newer. I do have a car, so if I do break down I'm not completely stranded.

Korean bikes cost much less to buy and maintain than imports. Hyosungs and Daelims are fairly dependable. If it does break-down, there is always a bike shop nearby.

Almost every bike will suffer from OBS at some point in its life. Check out the sitcky at the top of this forum if you don't know what OBS means. Cool

Well I'm guessing it means Old Bike Syndrome? Is that it? If not, there must be thousands of posts in that thread, so I don't have the time to go through it all. I did a search it didn't come up.
