|
|
We have had some trouble with timings, so our school wants us to come to Korea on a tourist visa and then to Japan on a visa run. I just heard from a friend that his brother tried to do that, but was told at the consulate in Japan that he would have to go back to his home country to get it. We have had a Korea E-2 visa before and we are a UK and Canadian citizen (I'm allowed to get my visa in the UK).
Anyone know if it is still possible to get a Korea visa in Japan or do you have to be in your home country?
If anyone has done it recently, how long does it take to process the visa application? |

Find out the reason why and enlighten us a bit more. Your post is way too general. It depends on their case.
Fukuoka is still doable and still can be processed overnight.
Be smart and contact your consulate first, however. |

Assuming everything is in order and you have no black mark in your file at immigration then you CAN do a visa run to Fukuoka.
It is overnight processing.

Yes, Fukuoka no probs.
You can actually get a E2 visa INSIDE KOREA if you work for a public school.
This is what I did. You have to be on a toursit visa though.
I thought my recruiter was loopy when he suggested it, so I went to immigration and sure enough it's true. If the Korean govt is inviting you to work here (which for ps teachers is the case) then you CAN get a visa in Korea. But you must be on a tourist visa.
My passport with new E2 and Alien Card was delivered to me today!
So easy. |

I went to immigration. They said if the govt or a govt dept (such as a board of education) is inviting you to work for them, then as long as you are in Korea on a tourist visa you can get your E2 inside Korea.
I did it with no probs and got BOTH my e2 visa and alien card at the same time and iit was way cheaper too.
You have to be on a tourist visa and it has to be a public school job.
I can;t be btoehrd to search for links etc, that's your homework lol! Just call immi and ask them. |
