Ah, you mock, but I was actually asking about the latter. Obviously I have a computer, but... where do I find a headset? How much do they cost??

Not mocking just got nothing better to do.
Headsets can range anywhere from 5,000-and up. But if you are not near Yongsan or either of the technomarts in Seoul look to pay 10,000+.

You can buy them all over, at just about any computer store. You can get them at Technomart on Line #2 at Gangbyeon station. You can get them at I-park Mall at Yongsan station. They can be found all over. You need one that has separate plugs for mic and headset.. usually the mic plug is pink, and the headset plug is green.

I have an LG headset I bought for 8,000 won that sounds great.

Umm i used skype all the time. I dont use a head set. YOu can just use a webcam. If you want to do video chatting you obviously need the webcam. Depending on how you want to your use Skype, you might need a paypal/creditcard to get skype credit. If you plan to use skype computer to computer its free. If you plan to go computer to landline/cellphone you need to pay. Theres all kinds of options with skype, you can get yourself a skype phone number if you like ect.. just look it up on www.skype.com

The only thing you have to be careful of is the feedback. Not all soundcards are created equal and using the mic on a PC with the PC speakers can sometimes lead to tin can sound or feedback.

Your absolute best bet is to get yourself a wireless headset or a wireless skype phone. Its nice to be able to use them just like a regular phone and wander around your place while you chat, etc.

well i can tell you from experience. Ive been using Skype for 3 years with a webcam and only had feedback issues a few times ( but that was YEARS AGO). Keep the webcam away from the speakers and you should be fine. However , oddly enough, i actually keep my webcam ontop of my speaker lol and still dont get any feed back issue. IF feedback was a common problem for me i would have gotten a headpiece a long time ago but its not!

I do agree that wireless headphones are nice if you need to get away from the computer and walk around =p. In no way am i saying webcams are the best option for skype but it is a good option =p. Its been good to me.

BUt yeah who knows, maybe many other people have problems with feedback sound.

Nah, I've used just a Logitech webcam for about a year now and had no problems with feedback. Also the mic on it is very good quality and picks up my voice very well.

I agree, webcam all the way. I used skype for years with a headset, but after finally getting off my ass and getting a webcam I'll never go back.

That's probably more to do with Skype then anything you could have done. They have some pretty advanced echo cancellation techniques in the new versions, and their new codec SILK has made a huge amount of difference with this.
