Anyone know of any good coffee shops in Bundang? Not like Starbucks or Coffee Bean, but something w/ a bit more personality and decent coffee?

In Ori, maybe 1 block east of the Subway station, is a coffee shop I believe called CLARA'S. They roast their own beans every morning and make easily some of the best coffee I've ever had outside of Venezuela. It's worth going to check out even if you're a few subway stops away. Plus they have excellent teas and the owner is really nice and always gave us free stuff once we became regulars.

I like the Dunkin Donuts that's in the same building as Kyobo bookstore in Seohyeon. But, it's probably to "corporate" for your tastes.

Seconded. The Korean name of the place is Coffee Yun-ga (sorry about the cruddy romanization of that)... and the sign is in Korean, but it says "Coffee - Roasting - Sandwiches" on it in English. Once you get inside, many products say "Roasted by Clara" on it, hence the name that I and others tend to use for it.

All of their coffee is killer, as is their fresh juice, and their scones, and basically everything.

Go to Jeongja station (정자). That area is famous for coffee shops, though it's a bit expensive! There's also a butterfinger pancakes in the neighborhood.

I went to Clara's one day to wait out a rainstorm and it was the best thing I did. The good coffee is a bit expensive...5,000 won...but you can get a refill for free. It's written in Korean otherwise I wouldn't have known. It's not a fluke because I've gone 3 times and each time received the refill.

I bought their beans to make coffee at home. Usually I need a little bit of high-fat milk with the coffee, but with Clara's coffee it tastes better without. The price is a little higher then I usually pay but not outrageous when you consider a small bag of Starbucks coffee is 17,000 won on average in Korea.

I just got back from "clara's" and the verdict is in: beats the hell out of anything i've found so far.

Exit Ori Station and walk maybe a block and a half east. It's on the right hand side of a pedestrian road.

They've got outdoor and indoor seating, very good design/decor. They've got wifi, but it kept disconnecting. I was able to get onto someone else's network, but it was a bit weak. Did the job tho. The staff said they stayed open until 1am.

Got a cup of Ethiopian (5,000W, delicious, free refill, as someone else said) and a Chicken Breast Sandwich (6,000W, good, simple, tasty whole grain bread). The person I was with got an Americano (3,500W, good, no refills) and a bagel (3,000W, with jam and a funky cream cheese, probably wouldn't order again).

The staff was awesome, spoke a little English, and inexplicably knocked a few bucks off our bill.

Overall, it was a great place to relax, have a drink, and read a book. I'll definitely be going back and recommend it.

Glad Clara's is getting more press. My girlfriend and I went there regularly last year when we lived in Ori and it's probably the thing I miss most about moving from there. Plus there were times Clara's was so empty I wondered how they stayed in business, so I'm glad to see it getting some attention.

We were there for 2 hours, and for 1.5 hours we were the only ones there.
