|
|
Long story short, me and the fiance have been pretty busy and stressed and irritable these days, so I am thinking of maybe taking a break and having a weekend trip next weekend to either a peaceful coast or island or lake area, where we can just enjoy the quiet and time with each other, eat some fresher seafood, and stay in guesthouses or minbaks.
Any ideas? We live an hour from Seoul, but that can be our main hub. I'd prefer places under a few hours from Seoul by bus.
Requirements:
peaceful and quiet and romantic
easy to find a place to stay without reservations next weekend
some kind of water (either sea or lake)
decent food choices |

Don't waste your time on that Island. A billion people on a tiny island will ruin it, no matter how nice the surroundings. It's only popular because it was in a movie. |

Another country. I found it rather hard to relax anywhere in Korea. It's pretty crowded and high strung no matter where you go. |

I like sokcho on the east coast.
-Lots of buses out there.
-This time of year it won't be busy.
-Long white sand beaches.
-A motel with sea views around 30-40,000 a night.
-Lots of fresh sea food
-hiking and temples |

Can't remember the name but there are three or four big 7 story square buildings near the top end of the main beach. Just knock on doors till you find one that is the right price. They will be more expensive if they are beach facing and on weekends or are busy
If you have google earth this is the approx lat and long
lat 3814'53.10"N
long 12834'10.93"E |

I recommend Seonyudo, a small island on the west coast that's easy to reach from Seoul in a few hours. It's very quiet and intimate. Beaches are nice and there are rental bikes with plenty of trails. Google it for pictures. |

Is that off Gunsun? Also, would there be plenty of accomodations avaliable if we go there without reservations? |

I second sokcho. I went there a few months ago with some friends it was great. Nice beaches, found a decent galbi place, and got an awesome room about a 2 minute walk from the beach for really cheap. |

A pension in Yangpyeong would be just the ticket. |

Haha, exactly. Romantic weekend in Korea? Try Japan. |
