If you finish your yearly job through a GEPIK school on the 15th, do they have to pay you severance and last month's pay on that date, or can they wait until the end of the month?

I would be out of the country in that case, and I would have paid for my flight as well as not have my severance. Any way to get them to pay this earlier? Or, is the moral of the story not to sign a contract in the middle of the month?

It should be on your end date or within two weeks (at least that's how long you have to wait to file a labor complaint). Many schools like to wait until your regular salary day after you finish to deposit the final monies.

You're at a public school so you don't have to worry too much about getting ripped off - unlike hagwon teachers who are told they will get paid after they're out of the country and then are surprised when they get substantially less then they were supposed to or nothing at all.

Just go to KEB and open an account with internet banking and set up a wire transfer account to your home bank. Then they can just deposit it in your KEB account and you go online and make the transfer to your home bank at your leisure when youre in your home country.
