Hi, I'm looking for someone who would like to be my sub for 2 days in October.

1 and 5 October.
Elementary hagwon students, mostly intermediate level.
3 Minutes' walk from Muakjae Station on line 3.
You'll have to come in 30 minutes before class, so that would be 15:30, but you don't have to wait around between classes.
Only 3 classes on Thursday and 5 on Monday.

Pay is W25 000 per class (thus W200 000 for all), and you'll get paid on the tenth. If you are interested, please PM or e-mail me ([email protected]).

Not trying to offend you but just giving you some advice...

That is a terrible rate for subbing work. If you get someone to cover for that you have done very very well. It is the reason why you have recieved zero replies on this thread

You also don't give times on how long the classes are or total hours.

To get anybody who is able to do something like that (namely F visas) you will need to pay at least 40K per class and knock the 30 minutes off before you start.

Good luck

When subbing, the general rule is to offer someone a bit more than what you are usually paid. Give them incentive.

We don't all have a paid apartment and other benefits like you probably do for this job.

Well, that is actually more than my OVERTIME rate, and I can't get them more pay, I'm not the person paying. My boss is too lazy to get a sub himself, so I have to find someone myself.

Just because no one has replied, doesn't mean no one has e-mailed.

My classes are 45 minutes long, but one or 2 are 50.

Thanks for your replies, esp Ilsanman. If you want, Ilsanman, you can come stay at my place for the whole weekend while I'm away, and I'll ask my gym if you can use my gym membership. Smile Is that incentive enough, Ilsanman?

I don't understand this...you pay the remaining 15K out of your own pocket.

Why would I pay more? I'd rather substitute myself and only come in for classes for more pay, than pay out of my own pocket for my own vacation.

This will be the reason why you don't find anybody to cover you.

25K per class is stupidly low. My Korean friends don't even work for that low when temping.

I live within spitting distance of Muakjae, and the going rate for temp work in that area is 40-50 an hour. I did it for 2 months over the summer for a little cash when I was between jobs. With 40-50 an hour easy to come by legally (I was doing 5 hours a day, 4 days a week), why would anybody consider 25?

Why pay more? Will your boss let you go even if there isnt anyone to teach your classes?
The pay is low but since im not doing anything those days anyway and I live close by I would maybe consider it. But waiting an extra week to get paid? Thats the deal breaker. In this type of situation you dont make people wait for their money.
