|
|
I work in a girls private highschool through SMOE. My head english teacher has given me 3 new classes with the 3rd graders (seniors) to help them prepare for their college entrance interview.
I know that this interview is in english and it's not set up like a general job interview. All I can get out of the other teachers is that the interviews tend to be more of a conversation and internet searches have been fruitless so far. Each class is 25 minutes long and divided into groups of 3 or 4 girls. I'm really not sure what directions to move in. It doesn't seem like a basic conversation class is going to do it.
Ideas? |

One Korean prof preached (can't remember who or where) these in his interview class:
1. cheerfulness
2. praise
3. stick to facts
My interpretation of that is
-lose the shyness, smile, be enthusiastic
-don't whine, look for common ground
-do not play devil's advocate just for the sake of it, stay with majority's opinion
He also talked of losing the teeenager talk and speaking professionally. Internet chat isn't going to work, do not use "it is so ...", "like, you know, ..." and so on.
I suppose you've been tasked to make 'lady' out of your girls, as if they're at a 'finishing school'. |

Welcome to the world of sooshi.
Interviews will be done as an individual or group depending on the school.
Interviews can last anywhere between 5-20 minutes.
etc..etc...
Id give you more, but theres probably a good chance some of your girls will be competing for the same spots. |
