so i bought an lg xcanvas off a friend leaving the country. packing the tv up, i forgot to pack the power cord. the power cord seemed like a standard pc/monitor power cord. i went to a computer store and bought one. plugged it in, tv fired right up for about a minute and then shut off. and is not turning back on. i wasn't looking at the tv when it went off so i don't know if a warning message or something popped up.
was i wrong in assuming i just needed a basic power cord? did i blow a fuse inside? why oh why wont my new tv work? |

If the power cord fits, then it's the correct power cord. Don't worry there.
I guess you have a faulty TV. You 'friend' may have ripped you off!!
Your only option is to bring it, or have it delivered, to an LG Xcanvas service center and let them fix it.
Still in warranty? |
