I'm looking into buying one of those mini 10" laptops....I'm moving to Korea next month so I'm wondering if I should just wait to buy one when I get to Korea or if I should buy one here in Canada before I leave? What do you guys think? Could I find something with better specs for a better price in Korea? |

they're cheaper in Canada and if you buy one here your legit OS will be Korean. buy before you leave. |

There should be a sticky about buying electronics outside of Korea.
If you're from North America, buy at home!
There was a mini 10" laptop I was looking at before I left for Korea in August and it was 200USD (I think it was this model http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10009937). And it wasn't even that rare of a deal.
I think you'd kill yourself trying to find a deal like that in K-land. |

Will you be traveling a lot with your 10'' laptop (known as netbooks)?
Netbooks don't have much power and don't have CD/DVD drives. The only people who can really benefit from a computer that size are people who need to use a computer while traveling/commuting.
If you're just intending to mostly use it at home, a netbook isn't really what you want, IMO.
Get a 15-17'' laptop if it's just going to sit in your apartment.
Get a 13-15'' laptop if you will need to carry it sometimes.
Get a 10'' Netbook if you need to carry it everyday. On foot. |
