Hi,
I've been thinking of buying a laptop here in Korea, but was wondering what the expense/hassle would be of having the unit converted to North American electrical standards once I get back home.

Or, has anyone ever had a new laptop shipped from North America to Korea? Horror stories? General advice?

Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers . . .

Generally, you buy a new $2 power cord that plugs into the adaptor. That's it.

Even cheaper, just buy the 500won plug adapter to put over the Korean plug. Smile

on my old Dell pC there was a switch on the back that just flipped back and forth for an adaptor.

Desktops generally have a switch to conver the power supply from 110 to 220. Most laptop power supplies are autoconverting now, and only need either a new cord or an adpater for the plug itself.
