About a month ago I came back from traveling down south (South East Asia). On my last few days there I came down with a nasty cough, sneezing, runny nose/ congestion, sore throat, and a slight fever. I made sure I drank a lot, I mean a lot, of hot tea, hot water, and fresh orange juice. I ate lots of fresh fruit and veg. And once I got back to Korea, I went through about 3 boxes of Tylenol Cold and Flu. After about 2 weeks, I was totally better.

So, normally I would say it was just the adjusting to the climate here again if it hadn't started while I was still down there. Of course, there's the strong possibility it was just a little summer cold.

Can I get a test that looks for the flu antibodies if I had it? Honestly, I'm a little afraid to go into a hospital and tell them I want to be tested for it because the paranoid response that might ensue.

Anybody have any help or advice?

Ummmm, you HAD it right? You don't HAVE it? I wouldn't say anything if I was better. Even if you don't have it, as soon as you say anything to a doctor, they will call your school and maybe more.

You can't spread it if you no longer have it. So no worries. Or are you just really curious?

I also think I had swine flu a month ago (in Europe) and would like to know if I can get tested for anti-bodies or something. I'm just curious!

Yeah, I'm fine now. This was all well over a month ago. But I'm curious if I have any anti-bodies now. If I do, and it comes back around this winter (as long as it doesn't morph into a new strain), then I wont have to worry about catching it again. Just wondering if they can test for anti-bodies or not.

There were lots of sick people at Auckland airport this week. A woman on my airport shuttle bent over to pick up her bag and a long stream of snot poured out of her nose. Some people are just irresponsible. You can see how things spread like wildfire.

On a better note, I've only seen a handful of people spitting in Seoul and environs the last 2 days. That'll help with the Tb and all too.

I just finished getting over the same exact thing. I am also in Southeast Asia right now. Was that really swine flu? If that was swine flu, then this whole bit of swine flu hysteria in the media has really been blown out of proportion.
