I have a 2gen 16GB Ipod Touch, with a few problems. It seems to run only about 2 hours or so on a single charge. I had the battery replaced, so it is not a battery problem.

Other than that, it is in great condition. I am curious whether anyone out there is interested in this and how much they would be willing to pay. It's a rather expensive toy to begin with, so there must be someone out there who knows how to fix these, is interested in the parts (the brand-new battery itself cost me a fair bit), or is willing to live with the reduced battery life at a greatly reduced price.

My guess is that I'll get better offers on the Korean sites, but I'll throw this out there to see if anyone here is interested.

Wouldn't something like that still be under warranty? The 2nd gen touches' haven't been out for long.

Are you leaving the Wifi on? The wifi is a huge battery drain.

I had assumed that it wouldn't be under warranty because I had been using a non-apple car charger, so I had the battery changed at a third-party ipod service centre. Then my wife called apple and they said that they would have honoured the warranty, but because it had been opened (to change the battery, the warranty is now void. Needless to say neither my wife nor I are very happy with myself about that, especially just after shelling out for a new battery..

My wife says that if I can recoup 100k or more from this ipod, then she'll think about letting me buy another one. Otherwise, I am ipod-less and will have to make do with just listening to music in my car.

If you're interested, though, make an offer.

Op, lots of different things you can do. Buy the same iPod touch at Costco. Swap your broken one for a new one. Take it back and say you want a refund.

While it may be tempting, it's shitty.

I have a 2nd gen I-pod touch, and I believe the battery charge time they claim is greatly exaggerated. I'm lucky to get 2 hours out of surfing. I don't play music much, so I'm not sure of how long the other features work. I heard using wifi and surfing sucks the battery life out pretty fast.

I have found that setting the brightness at 50 percent or lower adds a lot of time to the charge.

Thanks for all the interest, and sorry I couldn't reply to every person who sent me an offer--there were really a lot. The ipod is sold to the highest bidder.
