Last year my employer waited until the last minute to renew my contract so that I had no choice but to sign without negotiation or exit the country pronto. That time is here again, except that, without their knowing, I have just received my F2-1 visa. He tried the same thing - gave me the new contract last Fri and expected me to sign and go to immigration etc. I said - "No - need more money. Make me a new contract." Am still waiting, but feel empowered. No too worried, even if he says no.
By the way, does anyone know the differences between F1, 2, 3, 4 visas? And F2 vs F2-1? I guess once I get a new contract they will add an E2 or something to my current visa. Not sure howthat works yet. |

You will get permission to work as a teacher. Its not an E2. Anyway, the power is all yours. The only thing he has over you is the aparment. Its a pain in the ass to have to move. But if you got your own place yer set. |

F2-1 will be your main visa and an E2 is added if you wish to work as a teacher. The process is simple all you need is a contract and your employers Business registration number. Go to immigration yourself, fill out the forms, buy a stamp and Bobs your uncle. The first two years you only get the F2-1 for one year after that 2 years. |

They told me that I'd be given two years after my first year. Probably varies case by case - she was happy with the fact I have been married to a Korean for a long time. |
