Okay, so I want to cook some Indian food this weekend...I'm having the most insane cravings. Where in this town can I find cauliflower, cilantro, green peas, plain unsweetened yogurt, basmati rice and garam masala? I need to make Aloo Gobi and Chicken Tikka Masala ASAP!!! Would the Foreign Food Mart in Itaewon have all this stuff? If not, where else should I look? Thanks in advance!

Well, EZShop sell naan breads, albeit naff ones. TescoHome+ aslo sell packets of *runs off to kitchen* ... damn, I've run out myself. Anyway, Tesco sells 3 types of packet mix , (Vindaloo, Madras and Korma, I think) which are okay. Nothing like the real thing, but as good as you're going to get. If you're planning on making one from scratch, I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to direct you for spices etc.

There's a place across from the street from the mosque in Itaewon called "Muslim Mart" that has everything you could possibly need.
The last time I was there I picked up spice packets for Quorma and Karahi Gosht, plus I got a can of gulabjamun. Wink

I think you might be able to find stuff in Dongdaemun (actually near the Everest Restaurant). There seem to be a lot of immigrants there.

Another place is Ansan Station. I get all my curry, coconut milk and tea spice from there.

Yes, you can find all those ingredients at the Foreign Food mart in Itaewon. A lot of Indian restaurants buy supplementary stuff from there.

You know how to get to "Foreign Food Mart" in Itaewon? Keep walking up that hill and make the next left. It's a helluva steep hill, but eventually, after a block or two, you'll see the Muslim Mart on your right and the mosque on your left.

Don't go to the foreign mart in Itaewon that's just down from What the Book. I bought some bags of Basmati rice there for only 2,500 won. I thought it was a nice deal until . . . I discovered MAGGOTS in the bags. Unfortunately, I noticed it after I had eaten a few cups worth. I guess I got my daily source of protein.
