What kind of baby food did you feed your kids in Korea? I see that Gerber can be imported, but the shipping isn't cheap.
Suggestions? |

My wife and I feed our daughter homemade food. We boil the rice after soaking it, then add chopped beef, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, or whatever we want. Cook it all up, then use a blender to make it mushy. My girl loves it (most of the time).
This takes a while, but it's much better than buying the bottled crap available. |

My wife is pregnant now and we plan to make our own food as well. Her friends that have had kids here all make their own in the blender. |

We didn't use baby food. In fact, my son wouldn't touch it. He hates mushy and sticky food. We ended up doing baby led weaning. Google it if you want to learn more about it. Basically, he was pretty much exclusively breastfed for his first year. He just played with his food until he was a year. But, each baby is different, some love food and others are very picky. The pp homemade food sounds good to me if your baby likes to be spoon fed. You could make a batch and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Just so you know if you don't know already, a baby shouldn't have solids until they are at least 6 months old. (The recommendation of 4 months is outdated) Their digestive system just isn't ready until then. Check out kellymom.com if you want more information about feeding your baby. It's a very informative website.
Just as an aside, babies born before the 1930's in Canada didn't start eating food until they were a year old. In the 30's, baby food like pablum was introduced and mothers started feeding their babies way earlier. |

My wife does this. It's worth the effort. |

My son was the same way. Hated any and all baby foods. I made him eat some just for the "allergy" check anyway. After that, we just waited til he was old enough to start eating mushy foods. Rice and mashed potatoes were his favorite. |

My daughter loved most baby foods, just not others.
Back at home, it's worth just buying them, since they're 50 cents a jar and stuff. But here, make your own.
For fruit, put fruit and water in a blender. Done. |

100% homemade.
I was a stay at home mum then, and had bags of time.. besides that I didn't like the idea of jar food. So I made everything from scratch.
I also breastfed her until she was past 27 months.
This is something I seriously proud of. She never had a single oz of formula and she turned her nose up when I thought I would give her some Gerber baby food, cos she preferred home cooked food. |

My twins are only 4 months so not on "solid" food yet. My wife plans to make all their food herself. |
