Hi~~
I'm probably making my way back to Korea and am stuck as to what to do with stereo set-up. My power amp and CDP I'll ship over but will buy a fresh pre-amp and bookshelf speakers.
I've had a look on a couple of Korean websites for hi-fi gear and was taken aback by new prices.
OTOH, music-box.co.kr second hand and salezone doesn't seem to be too bad , for example
http://www.music-box.co.kr/main.htm?d=p&l=list&f_code=c&f_c=359&f_p=&f_se_pro=202&nnn=%C4%F5%B5%E5
Wondering what others have done to satisfy their stereo fix?
Cheers, J. |

There's a whole floor of proper hi-fi stuff in E-Land, that's the biggest building in the Yongsan complex.
Lots of older stuff there that you might be able to haggle for. Those hi-fi stall guys barely sell a thing from one week to the next. Not many people buying traditional hi-fi anymore. So they might be glad just to shift something.
Is that big building called E-land? Maybe that's just a company logo on there.
I found this map by our old Yongsan expert, Lemon.

It seems to be called GwanGwang Terminal on this map. I've never heard it called that, but I trust Lemon so maybe it is. |

I went in there today to buy headphones and an amplifier. Approx 7.5% cheaper for some top Sennheiser h/phones compared with on-line in NZ.
Saw the odd foreigner there but the place (2F) was pretty deserted at lunchtime. It isn't so much traditional Hi-Fi as "money no object" gear they have. They wouldn't need a huge turnover in shop and probably sell more on-line perhaps.
An odd thing though-for all the top end stuff I saw (McIntosh,Plinius, Pass Labs, Wilson etc )I didn't hear a single shop playing music. |
