I'm currently teaching for the Ulsan MOE. My old contract expires on Sept. 24, 2009 and the new one starts up the day after. However, I didn't actually sign the new contract yet and didn't have any proof of it when I went home. My vice-principal and I verbally agreed on it and I'm listed as having resigned so staying won't be a problem.
The problem is that my E2 expires in three weeks. I heard that you must go back to your home country to get it renewed. I already visited Canada but didn't renew the visa during that time. I tried to call and email the Consulate in Toronto but they didn't answer the phones or respond to my email.
I'm planning on going back for a short vacation in December. When I leave, will I have to pay a fine for overstaying? When I get back to Canada will I be able to get my proper E2 with no trouble (since I'll have a signed contract and all that)? |

| All you have to do is go to Immi and renew your ARC card. You will have to get your new contract and medical check first. So get them to hurry on that, and then you're clear. |

| And you MUST renew the ARC before the original exit date expires. That said, you don't have to go back to Canada or anywhere else except to Immigration to do this. |

Thanks for the fast response.
I had my co-teacher contact the offices and they provided the same information. I'll just get my contract signed and head down there. This was way easier than I expected. |
