Many months back on here someone someone said that NZ was in talks with Sth Korea on the Pension, among other things.

Does anyone know what the state of play is now?

I checked a few months ago and it hadn't been ratified. I believe it was "in the works". Australians could get their refunds from mid-2008?

Yep, we (Oz) started getting ours from October last year but it was in the pipes for quite a while. It took over a year just to get ratified.
I wouldn't pin my hopes on it getting rushed through.
The good news is that when it does get approved you can apply for it in your home country (well that was the case for us).
Hope that helps you,
Techno.

Out of curiosity-had it accrued any interest?

I had a look at the pension site for news and took a look at the aussie deal about 1 month ago. I'm testing my memory here but i think i saw something regarding 5 years. I took it to mean as long as the deal is in place before the last time you paid into the pension ( under 5 years)then you can apply for the lump sum payment. don't quote me just go to NPS site and see what you think.

Hmmm, I'm half Aussie (half NZer). Do you think there is a way to rangle it so I can get my refund? Probably goes by your passport though.
