If you've traveled in Asia you've probably had a local somewhere come up to you and ask you to come see their art show. The paintings at these shows are mostly by students at specialty schools, or, literally starving artists.
Is there something like that in Seoul? |

I would contact university art departments. Hongik, for instance.
