I'm looking to go to Korea around February. Is there any schools that have 6 month contracts? Since I'm a newbie, should I get in contact with any recruiters?

I'm thinking about applying to the TALK program too, but I don't know how hard it is to get into the program. Do any of you have any advice for applying for TALK?

Please help me if you can. I appreciate it.

Unless you are an F-4 visa holder already on ground, you'll find it next to impossible to get a 6-month contract.
TALK is for people who's done 2-years of university. Are you an E-2 candidate with a 4 year degree or are you a half-degree TALK candidate?
Going via a recruiter is generally advisable. If you have connections in Korea and can get a job through them, then there is not need to.

if you are an graduate there is no point in applying for the TALK program unless you`re happy to earn less money. TALK is for people who have completed 2 years of education at undergrad level.

If you`re a graduate apply for EPIK as it`s exactly the same program but for graduates and you earn a higher salary.

6 month contracts? not impossible but extremely rare.

How much less does TALK pay than EPIK?

It's been a dream of mine to go to Korea for 4+ years. I really want to travel, etc.

And since TALK does offer 6-month positions... that's why I'm interested in it. Since housing is included, I don't know if I would be spending lots of money there.

What do you guys think?

TALK pays 1.6 mil won per month as a cat6. cat3 is any 4 year degree and pays 2.0 mil per month. TALK only applies to public schools, not hagwons.
