I take a village bus to school every day (I live in Seoul). Usually, the fare is 600 won. This morning, I noticed my fare was 1,500 won. Since my Korean is limited, I couldn't ask the bus driver why. I watched the other passengers scan their cards and sure enough, it was only 600. Anyone have any ideas why my fare was higher? Does it have to do with the type of card I have? I have a "Seoul CityPass+" but it also has the T-Money logo and I've been using it without problems for about two weeks.

Thanks in advance...

if you forget to scan your card when exiting the bus, you will be charged a penalty the next time you ride.

I'd guess that you didn't scan your card on the way off the bus last time. If you don't scan when you get off it charges you more the next time you use your card.

I'm sure the other posters are right as that has happened to me. But once I got double charged. There were 2 open seats and I had a long haul. A woman was digging through her purse looking for her card, blocking the entrance and the card machine for a lengthy amount of time. So I reached around and scanned and pushed my way in. She'd apparently told the driver to charge for 2, without me hearing, then decided to look for the card. So they got a ride off me, but I got their seat.
