I'm having a hard time finding postcards where I'm living, and I plan to send something in the mail each day to my sick father back in the US...

So....Have you ever used a photo store in Korea to get a digital image made into a postcard? probably using one of those machines you find all over in the US in places like Walmart or some photo center?

What should I ask for in Korean to see if a place can do it? Or do you know of a specific machine to look for or Korean word icon(s) to click to do it myself?

Thanks....

There's Insa Dong or Museums in general..

Bit more utilitarian and interesting could be to have photos printed and laminated (maybe with a small gap for the stamp). Any stationary shop ought to be able to accommodate that.

Thanks.

I was hoping this was something commonly an option with the machines or in photo shops. I seem to remember hearing that it was in the photo-booth machines where people sit - usually with friends - and get a series of photos made and can get them with added graphics. I seem to remember hearing you can now get the print to come out as a postcard.

I wonder if you could just write an address and put a stamp on the back of any image and mail it? I know even ten years ago, I bought postcards in Korea of famous stars or ad models that looked like standard photos but were postcards when you flippled them over...

....I actually got in trouble with some Korean friends I met in France when I sent them a postcard like that of a popular, young TV actress whose face was everywhere and said that it was a photo of a girl I had met and was dating in my early weeks in Korea.....

....The problem was they didn't recognize it as a clear job. They thought it was the truth, and when I figured out they hadn't gotten it and told them, they felt foolish.......but heck.....like I told them....if one of them had written me with a postcard of Cindy Crawford on it and said she was his new boyfriend, I'd have gotten the slight humor instantly....

Anyway --- the problem with just addressing a photo and sticking a stamp on it --- the print of the photo would probably be damaged significantly in processing ---- and even if it didn't, eventually the ink would bleed through -- admittedly over a long period of time....

I wanted to find a place to make postcards where I'm at, because I'm just not finding any where I'm at and I don't want to spend time when I get into Seoul for the day looking for them...
