I was offered a job that starts November 19th teaching at an all girl's school in Seongnam, but I was wondering why it would start so late. I think if I wait until February there will be better opportunities and if I go through Gepik I will have an orientation where I can meet other teachers and such. I am just so eager to get over there so I am really not sure what to do. |

If you start in November you'll basically teach for a month and then get two months' salary for free. Why not? If the school is awful, there's plenty of time to quit and apply to GEPIK.

Sounds good. Come in November. Girls are better students than boys so te school sounds good. Apparently you're guaranteed one school rather than several. You'll be arriving just in time to settle in before vacation. Couldn't be better. For a first job in Korea this sounds good. If you wait until March you'll probably get rejected or sent to the sticks and be told you have to teach at 11 different schools or some such nonsense. Also, orientation isn't all it's cracked up to be. Do you really want to share a room with a 60 year old *beep*-hound who doesn't shower on principal? You might not end up sharing a room with him, but then again you might.
I say come in November. |

Don't turn down the job in Nov." A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush etc".
Teaching girls is super easy. You'll love it. There might not be any vacancies (or govt. funding for March PS jobs).
Good luck. |

Teaching all girls is super easy for a guy, but they don't listen to women as well. (Yes... OP is a girl.)
I recommend taking the job anyway. November start, sweet! |

I would also take the job. The orientation basically sucks and you can easily meet people in the area you would be in.
Don't worry too much about the start date being later than usual. Mine was like that because the previous teacher got real sick and had to leave earlier than planned. Sometimes visa delays also push back the dates.
Take the opportunity, sounds great |
