Apple OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) hits the shelves this Friday.

Does anyone know if Snow Leopard will be available here in Korea tomorrow at that little Apple kiosk in Yongin? Perhaps at the Apple-carrying stores in COEX or the one in MyongDong?

If you see it out there tomorrow, please do comment about location/price.

Thanks!

I'm heading to Coex tomorrow to buy another power cable. I'm hoping to find Snow Leopard there as well. I'll write back if I do find it.

Order it online, or by phone. You can pre order it for delivery.

I went to iPark Mall in Yongsan today, to the Apple Authorized reseller.

I asked for Snow Leopard, and he had no idea what I was talking about. I asked for an internet-enabled computer to show him, so he brought me over to the enormous, beautiful iMac on the counter, which was running Windows XP and Internet Explorer. I loaded up Apple's Korea site in IE and pointed.

He said they didn't have it.

i asked an apple retailer in jongro, and he said that its not released in korea yet. He said it would be available next month. I find it odd though, because the korean apple site says that it's available now...

No way. He's full of crap. I ordered it by phone on Friday, and i arrived today. The woman at my neighborhood reseller here in Daegu, pointed to Wednesday on the calendar for in-store stock to arrive.

It's slick, by the way. My subsequent 6gig Time Machine backup seemed like it was over before it even got started. Didn't know Airport could even crank out that much wireless. Yeah, well worth the 45,000.

That's great to hear. I went to two Apple authorized reselllers...one in Seohyeon/Bundang, and another at Technomart and they had no idea when i was going to become available. The one at Seohyeon was worthless, pointing to an Apple Care box saying "Yes, Snow Repord!"

The Apple Dealer at Technomart said it would be very soon. I'm not in a huge hurry as I always try to wait until they do a X.0.1 update to fix any weird kinks that made it through.

Is there any way it can be downloaded legally? I acquired a copy of the pre-release version via a certain bit torrent site. It works fine but it's missing some stuff from the retail disk.

If you are interested, you should check out this MASSIVE review on arstechnica: http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2009/08/mac-os-x-10-6.ars. I wasn't very excited about it before, but now I am psyched.

I just ordered it off the Apple Korea website. Seems easier than heading to Coex only to battle the crowds.

If you go to Myeongdong, they have Frisbee stores that carry Snow Leopard.
