gee, i met some girls in chatting online and they were interested in frendship and language exchange. they asked me to meet them, one yesterday and one today saturday at noon. but none of them showed up and i waited 1 hour each. there was also a girl i did penpal for 2 months while i was in vegas. when i finally told i came to seoul last week, i've suddenly no reply from her anymore.
i know btches can be bixches back home too. but hey, why does it happen to me here with such a freqhency? is this a korean thing too?? i wonder why, if THEY ask to meet (not me, though its not i'm not interested), then why can't they move their lazy body and show up.
then there is the thing with male coworkers:
korean: do you have girlfrend?
me: no. do you want to intruce me one?
korean: no. you need foreign woman.
why is he bringing this topic to conversation then?
such a patetic groyup of people. but somehow everyother guy walking around as a korean girl with him. |

If it was a meet-up they probably took one look at you and kept walking as it would have been very obvious who you are. They weren't looking for languages exchanges so if they don't like what the see they don't take the merchandise.
It is very common when koreans meet koreans on dating sites/blind dates as well.
They ask the guy to wear something significant and then when they arrive if they don't like what they see they keep walking.
Tough luck. |

first of all... only weirdos do the online thing... get out and meet the girls ....
getting korean girls is easy ... just be good looking... the girl probably saw you waiting there and decided that you were ugly so she kept walking by.
( dont call daves a pathetic group of people , when you can't even get other online weirdos to meet up with you ! )
good luck internet boy |

that's just wierd because i used to work part-time as a model 5 years ago. i don't tihnk i turned too ugly in the meantime, even though i didnt show up in a shiny suit.
plus it was not supposed to be anithing of a romantic date, and i didnt "pursue" them in anyway.
i dont really spent more than half hour/ 1 hrs online daily, yeah, but where do you meet girls in real life if you dont go to night clubs or foreign bars...
tried to make male frends here too, but koreans just want to drink suhjoo or tell you how great their country is, and not to touch their women. ...
maybe i'm just a loser... since after all, all english teachers coming here fit that catergory..

Obviously the girls didn`t like the way he looked in person like others have pointed out, but IMO there is nothing wrong with meeting girls on dating sites. Lot`s of desirable K girls do the internet thing. I met and dated a 9 out of 10 one time off a free dating site back in the states. Looked like a playboy model, no joke, and was a very outgoing person. IMO, its actually easier to meet women in real life than on the web, but whatever works works. You dont have to be so condescending. |

I gotta roll with everyone else here. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've met a few girls online. Some ended up being pretty good relationships. But have you ever tried meeting in real life? Grab a wing man and go to a bar. You'd be surprised how easy it is to talk to a girl if you're in a bar in Itaewon or Hongdae. Sure, you might be getting a skank, but there are nice girls out too.
If it's an all Korean bar, stay away. She probably wont speak English to you, even if she can. And the Korean dudes there are going to go out of their way to cock block you every chance they get.
Try one of your coworkers. But be careful. If things go sour, she'll blab to everybody about it. And don't try to just "run through" a bunch of girls at work. You'll earn a reputation that will haunt you. Plus, they'll tell everyone else and you wont date a coworker ever again.
Or you can go out with a group (probably from work) and just ask if they have any friends. It may end up being a language exchange, but that can always blossom into something more. Often times, because of shyness and the cultural idea that women shouldn't be forward in any way here, "language exchange" is codeword for a girl that wants to date a foreigner but not broadcast it to the world. She wont hold your hand in public and she'll probably always be carrying a book or two, but once you get back to your place she'll "let her hair down" if you get my meaning.
Of course if you insist on doing the online thing, join one of the good sites (ublove.com or koreancupid.com) and pay for it. Don't try to meet the freebies. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of guys there that pay the premium memberships and get a lot more perks than the free membership. So shell out sixty bucks for a few months of top level stuff, make a good profile, put a lot of new pictures up there, then start emailing the crap out of them. Don't make a "cut and paste" email you send to all of them. They're pretty smart about that. Personalize each one and see what happens. Remember, girls online get handfuls or dozens of emails a day. Most of them, they don't even read them. So don't just focus on one or two. Those that write you back, email them back and forth for a while. Then exchange MSN screen names or even phone numbers. Chat them up for a week or two, then decide to ask them out. She'll feel more comfortable meeting someone she's been talking to for a while than someone she met the day before.
My point is, there are dozens of way to meet girls here. I'm not saying it's easy or Korean girls are easy. It's much like home. There are "loose" girls and more traditional girls. But you do have the natural advantage of being a white guy. It does help with some. I've seen some dog arse ugly white dudes with some pretty hot K-gals. So it just takes time, patience, and learning their personalities. Best of luck! |

this is hilarious,
Op put on his slick clothes, went to the meeting point, waited, waited, the wily kchick came with her friend, secretly acted like she was passing through, took one look at him and kept on walking, happy she dodged that bullet.

I wouldn't say it's an advantage. Only minority of korean girls are open to dating foreigners but the minority happens to be more "clear" of what they want if you get what im saying.
and I'm not sure about ugly dudes with some pretty hot k-gals, I've never seen it |

There is a lot of cock blocking that takes place in Hongdae/Itaewon, too. Plus a lot of sasauge-fest type places crammed with English teachers on the prowl and Korean guys who've heard Hongdae women are easy. |

yes, so what?? im looking to meet people to minimize the "scary" feeling. korea looks now less "scary" to me now, but rather more of "inhospitable" or of general mistrust towards foreingers... |
