It is different for everyone and though this may not be the answer you want it's the answer.
I just recently came here and so far I have mixed feelings. Everyday I like it more and trust me the first couple days were no fun. After those first couple days though it is great. A lot of people on here are going to point out all the flaws of Korea and nitpick about what they hate. But like any country it has its good points too.
If you're an adventurous person that doesn't mind not being included in everything then come on over and enjoy. Bring an open mind and be patient.

I came with my husband so that has made this experience a lot easier. I'd imagine living alone in an area where you don't know anyone would be hard to begin with.
Let me add that I am by nature a very awkward person and I actually find being in a culture so unlike my own to be very forgiving. If I act strangely, it's not because there is something wrong with me but because I am just a weird foreigner. It's sort of nice playing the blissfully ignorant card.
I also am not adventurous. I'm very satisfied with my life here thus far as, in all honesty, it doesn't deviate much from the one I left behind.

What I tried to say was this: I lived in Chicago for a few years, in Spain for a couple of months and I am coming from a Spanish speaking country. I am confident in living and working at any English and Spanish speaking country, but coming to Korea seems to be very hard, not because the culture, which I am used to already, but the language or trying to communicate with somebody without success, that's kinda frustrating...

and no.. you aren't a grammar Nazi.. I know my written skills aren't good at all... but I like to speak it.. not write it.. hehe but you're right.. I will start some practice.
