I'm planning on heading to graduate school after I finish my current contract. I have requested a letter of recommendation from a co-teacher. She is recommending I write it.
Has anyone had a similar experience. What references did you consult to draft your letter? Does anyone have a sample letter they can post? |

I've heard of professors asking their students to write their (that is, the students') letters of recommendation for the professor, and the professor will look over it and sign it only if the prof deems it's accurate. But that's a world apart from what is being asked here.
I imagine that your coteacher is asking you to write one because s/he doesn't feel comfortable enough to write a well-crafted rec. What you should do is have him/her write a letter of rec in Korean, then have a third party do a translation. That'd be a more authentic, legitimate way. |

it's common here as it is back home. it could be a matter of laziness, but why not? if it was me, I would tell the person to write himself and I would just look it over before signing to make sure it's at least somewhat accurate.
I've done that back home in the states about 4 times, 3 of them were professors, one was my supervisor when I worked in the library. I've done it once here. I asked my coteacher and she said I should write it. |
