I'm looking for a used printer...compatible with Vista
I'm not looking to make a big investment on something that I'm only going to use for a few months and not taking back to the states... |

*bump*
I'm still searching for a printer.....small, used, compatible with Vista...
doesn't need to be anything fancy.....I just need normal black and white copies....I only plan on using it for a few months until I leave so I'm not looking to spend a fortune on a new one.... |

Oh, I think I posted in the wrong thread. Some guy was looking for a small portable printer.
The cheapest printer I've found is at Costco. It's a Canon inkjet, and will run you between 30,000 and 40,000 won NEW. Not sure if you can get it for nearly the same price elsewhere. |

Might be more than you need, but it's cheap (35,000) and does the job.

The kicker...it doesn't come with ink cartridges, and you need BOTH the black and the color cartridge for it to work. Both cartridges cost 44, 000, more than the printer itself. How much sense does that make?
Of course, the external ink solution looks pretty decent, but will run you an extra 68,000.
Another option...
I've got an OLD (+10 years) Canon BJC-210 ( http://electronika.ro/magazin/images/CanonBJC210.JPG ) that you can have. It's in rough shape (sometimes it's a pain to get the thing to actually turn on, and you usually have to hand feed the paper), but it still prints, though the quality is horrible. I think I might even have an extra ink cartridge kicking around. Not sure it's compatible with Vista either... |

The first link is for the printer and a color cartridge.
The second link is for just the printer. The color cartridge costs 35,000 won on its own, so obviously, the first link is a better deal.
In the link for the first one, there's an option for the black and white cartridge, which is 29,400. Might want to double check that the printer can run on one cartridge. The new Canon I bought (linked above) need both cartridges to work, even if you're only printing black and white docs.
Honestly, it makes no sense that they can make printers and all in ones so cheap, but yet still stick it to us with the ink cartridges. Looks like a continuous ink supply is the way to go. |
