Sometimes I know I am an idiot, and not to brag, but I'm confident in this knowledge. Other times I know I am clever, like when I finish that crossword. What has perturbed me for a while is how arrogant many people seem. It's a strange world, where it seems like 90% of folks for some reason believe they are better than approximately 90% of folks. Am I wrong? I gather this crap from unreliable sources like the internet, so maybe I am wrong. How can 90% ..supposing that is a fair estimate... consider 90% to be crap?

Ah, so maybe 90% are idiots.

Glad to be with the cool majority then.

In America, 80% of men think they drive better than the average man.

I don't think it's a constant. I go from being less of an idiot, to being an idiot of gargantuan proportions. Right now, I'm somewhere in between.

There are also different brands of idiocy.

I think it depends on the area of expertise. In some fields, I know that I am above average, maybe smarter than 90% of the people at my workplace. But in other areas, somethings are completely over my head. It would arrogant to think that I am smarter than 90% of the people here since I only understand about 60% of what they say and they probably only tell me 10% of what they know. Guess, that would make me an idiot based on what I said in my second sentence... I dunno. Let's just say, most people have an overinflated sense of self-worth. Why would people think they can charge 50,000 won an hour for privates, to teach illegally. (and yes, I know some people can do it legally, but not many)

Well, occasionally playing "The Idiot", at least we know we are in good literary company.

Nah, what has me worried, given the internet age, is the arrogance. Perhaps it always existed, but now it is more visible. People are slamming people for no good reason. And, really, you know most of the slammers are idiots who could not spell a damn word.

Am I wrong? Shall I join the majority> who all agree they are superior?

sorry was a drunk post from ..you know who

Most of the time I don't think I'm an idiot. But, that said, there are times when my brain just shuts down and I say stupid **** on occasion. I'm usually kicking myself after that happens, but I think it happens to everyone. Everyone is an idiot once in a while.

It's all relative. When I realise I could have paid down my mortgage much more just a few months ago I feel like an idiot that I'm stuck with higher x rates.
I feel like the village idiot because almost everyone takes a glance or a stare at me wherever I go in public. Especially when I tell my kids off using English. Everyone has a good gawk with their wide eyes. (How can slanty eyes see so widely yet round eyes be so squinty and narrow fielded?)

I feel like an idiot that I have to use a car center here even though I'm a B-grade mechanic.

Yet, alas, some people might say I'm no idiot for actually keeping my house and not losing it. Even though it ain't worth a lot and doesn't go up exponentially in value like others in 강남 et al. Maybe I'm no idiot for erring on the side of caution - an economic crash can simply occur overnight, as I have seen with own eyes during 'IMF' when many, many people lost their over-valued apartments.
Maybe I'm no idiot for keeping my car on the road for the cost of an oily rag - in comparison to others in their newly financed Sonatas. 'G'luck to them, I think, for a few years down the track, they're gonna be losing money left and right on 'em.

Keeps them working 80 hours a week. It's not that they are hard workers, it's that they have so much debt.
I could take a few months holiday and not be so much worse for wear.

Maybe it's all relative then?

Still feel like an idiot though, often. I think mainly because I compare myself to others who have done very well or who are leaders in their fields. I always fall short when looking that way.

All this is true. People have strengths and weaknesses. SOme of my friends are clearly very intelligent but then dont know the difference between 'there', 'their' and 'theyre'.

I have been told by many I am smarter than most but then many dont see or hear the absolutely moronic things I say and do every day.

I think though, because Im quite capable at abstract thought and tend to deal only in abstract thought this gives the impression that I am really intelligent, when I often wish I was more practical and down-to-earth.

Would a smart person go off on his own into the night on Saturday when its clearly more sensible to write it off and take a rest? But sheeeeet thats what Im bout to do
