Does anyone know of any good beaches that aren't in Busan or Ulsan? I'm wanting something that's not super crowded and touristy. |

Seopori beach on Deokjokdo Island, about an hour from Incheon Port (여안부두), or the beaches on Jeju are quite nice too |

We have gone to Daecheon Beach, where mud fest is held. Its small, quiet, and inexpensive to stay around there. It's fairly nice. |

Mangsang beach in Donghae has got to be the nicest beach in Korea, in my opinion. It won't be crowded now that it is September and there is a train stop right at the beach. The water is a nice light blue here.
Daecheon beach at Boryeong is good too, but it isn't as nice as Mangsang. However, it is better for swimming as it doesn't get deep as fast and the water is warmer, and brown.
I heard, but haven't been, that there is a really nice beach called Myeongsashimri on Sinji-do, which is right off of Wan-do, which is right on the south-west corner of Jeollanamdo.
So, there you go, one nice beach from each region of Korea. |

This time of the season no beaches are super-crowded - 'holiday season' is over, even though the water is probably at its warmest. |

You can consider Pohang too. The beach is clean and nice. It's cheap to stay there and you can have a fabulous seafood selection from the seafood market just nearby. |

If you don't mind looking at a row of Blast Furnaces while sunning yourself. I can only just imagine how filthy the water is. |
