So I bought a Xbox at one of the Pawn shops next to Camp Casey to hold off the boredom that is the "sticks".
I'm wondering about "modding" it to play downloaded games if that possible to play on xbox live. Does anyone know if that works still, or has Microsoft finally caught up how to ban people from using xbox live on modded xboxs.
Also the xbox I got is having some difficulty reading disks, it's random but if it happens permanitly I don't want to just have to throw away my xbox when I know I could get it repair by some "garage shop back in the states for like $40.
So here is the question that I want to focus on: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN TAKE MY XBOX TO GET MODDED AND/OR REPAIRED IN KOREA? |

Well let me answer your questions in order:
1. the Ixtreme uses stealth to hide the fact that your using a backup from M$, but it's never 100% and they have been known to catch large amounts of people. I remember the last wave of mass bans came more than half a year ago. I heard also that another round of bans came to those stupid enough to play Halo ODST with backups (M$ stated specifically that hackers were banned, not the people who bought it early)
2. your dvd drive might be breaking down. They usually have an average life span of 2-3 years. I hear the newer LiteOn drives can chug it out longer though. What is the manufactured date on the back of the console? If it is breaking down, it would cost you 20-40 dollars for a new drive and another 10 dollars for the labor(in the USA, not sure what they charge in Korea).
I would check out Yongsan for someone to mod it, but since your xbox is already having possible hardware issues I wouldn't use the money to mod it before checking that out. |

I would assume that mods wouldn't work in the long run, and I'm an adult now and not a cheap highschool student and I can afford 50,000 for a game once in awhile.
Repairs are my main concern so I would like some good information where to go would be good, not just "go to yongsan", becuase that's a big area. I mean I want contact info or directions to the door of the shop. |
