This is for all you experts out there. I was just reading a posting that in brackets mentioned sealed transcripts that are less than 3 months old. My sealed transcripts that I still have 8 of do not have any print dates on them. The only date on them is the date of Graduation or the actual date they originally printed the awarded degree.

Do other post secondary schools actually date the transcripts with the date they printed them for you well after your original grad date?

Is this going to cause me a problem with immigration or at the consulate?

Thanks in advance as I am usually pretty good at assisting others. This one is peculiar.

I think it is the CRC which has the three month limit not the transcripts

the posting actually did say the transcripts must have been printed in the last 3 months.

I am aware of the CRC time limit.

Thanks anyway

Is that right that the CRC can only be 3 months old?
I thought I read 6 months old before.
It takes me 2 months to get one, so that makes for a pretty tight window.

The CBC is good for six months, not three. Originally it WAS three, but Immigration changed the requirements to six.

I was asked for transcripts that were less than six not three.

Then again there are people who've supplied transcripts that are way out of date and have never had a problem.

My transcripts are dated from 2001 when they were originally finalized. The new ones printed last month have that same date on them. Will this cause me a problem? I paid the proper fees to the school per sealed copy and they gave me 2 additional copies not in envelopes for my own records and to be notorized by my Lawyer.

I got my transcripts back unopened last time, so I have to wonder if they ever look at them Smile

Word was that the print date is on them somewhere but really, what logic is at work here? Like how can the content differ? Makes me laugh.

I also wonder why they can't just record your info ONCE. What happens to all the stuff submitted? Either there is a very large paper mountain in a warehouse somewhere or it is binned (unshredded?). Surely easier to make a database, or is it all more 'busywork' for officials?

The date on the transcripts shouldn't matter. Unlike a criminal record check, transcripts aren't going to change once you graduate. As long as they are sealed they "should" be fine. I've used transcripts that were many years old in Korea, and if they are returned to me they are always unopened.
Good Luck

Canadian CBC's must be within the last 3 months. Most/All others are good for 6 months.
