This has been stated a number of times, but just once more and for the record: All on-line real estate agencies are worthless.
Get to the neighborhood and start blanketing all of the agencies. Know what you want and what you're willing to pay; don't compromise, but be realistic. |

I don't think he was asking about the quality of their website and whether the ads were real. I think he was asking about if anyone had an experiencing in dealing with this agency which has an english speaking rep whether they're good, or whether they're going to try and rip you off. |

| What's the difference? Again, why bother? Grab a bilingual Korean friend and hit the streets! |

Because English speaking realtors often have 1 year contract units because they're used to dealing with people who stay here just a year. where as standard korean realtors have 2 year contracts. Perhaps he's not interested in a 2 year contract. |

| Gilbert got me my first place in Korea. It was really and we had no complaints with him, his finders fee was 400k tho which is about double what you would pay to the usual realtors in and around Itaewon. If you decide to go with him agree upon the fee before you sign for the house. |

| I'd had my fill of this company and 'Gilbert'. He's a greedy, two-faced agent - sound familiar? He and his kind prey on people who don't have the benefit of hauling around a K-person to do the negotiating. Otherwise, they could never justify their own existence. |

If you've lived here for a year or more and are looking for a new place, there isn't much excuse to rely solely on English-speaking realtors. The basic Korean real estate lingo (월세, 전세, 보증금, etc.) and numbers aren't hard to learn, and, with the dictionary in your cell phone, you should be able to understand the terminology in the contract. Learn this basic Korean, all you'll be able to visit every realtor in the country, not just the select few who cater to foreigners. |

99% of online realtors pull the bait and switch.
Show AWESOME apartments for REALLY cheap on their websites. You call them and they say they are available and want you to meet up.
When you get to their office, suddenly all those apartments found tenants that very day, but they could show you some other "rooms". Those rooms end up being too small, and overly priced. |
