HI all,
I recently purchased the above LCD telly and I am trying to get it to work with my Macbook pro. The problem is that I can't get it to produce 1080P. The option in the display menu only gives me 1080i and it looks like garbage.
I read that this is a bug and the way around it is to put your display options in the menu bar and display recent items. I did that and it gives me 2 1080P options but both are still 1080i.
Has anyoen had this problem? Did you ever get it to work? I also read that I need to have 1:1 pixel set on the TV but I can't find the option for that.
Any help would be appreciated! |

Are you playing a bluray disc? That's one of the few ways to feed a TV a 1080p signal.
The best you can get from cable TV at the moment is 1080i.....the TV won't show a picture in 1080p unless you feed it a 1080p signal. |

I'm not playing a bluray. I'm just trying to mirror my macbook pro display to show on the HDTV. The highest res I can go at is 1900x1080i which looks like crap.
There is some kind of bug that won't let the 1080p option be displayed in the display preferences section. I was wondering if anyone here had the problem and got it sorted out. |

Are you sure bout this? I think many people are getting the max res on their HDTV monitor when they connect their laptop. I know that the 1080i option looks really terrible so there must be something wrong. |

Well, you are getting 1920 vertical lines and 1080 horizontal lines of resolution. So, you are getting full resolution. Your concern is that it seems to be in interlaced mode and not progressive scanning mode.

Actally, there is next to no difference between 1080i and 1080p......1080i should definitely not look like crap. If you think it does, then get ready to be disappointed with 1080p, because they're virtually indistinguishable.
I honestly know nothing about Macbooks and they way they output to monitors............what cable are you using?
You would probably get an answer on a Mac forum. |
